A folder full of OBS replay-buffer clips is slow to triage in a file explorer. Clip Sorter plays each recording in turn and lets you file it into a bin with one keypress, so hundreds of clips become minutes of work. Everything runs locally in the GrumpTools desktop app: your recordings never leave your machine.
Runs on your machine
Clips are played, moved, and merged locally in the desktop app: full speed, full privacy, and gigabytes of footage never routed through anyone's servers.
One keypress per clip
Assign a hotkey to each bin, then sort the whole folder without touching the mouse. The next clip loads the instant you file the last one.
Custom bins and hotkeys
Make a bin for each destination folder and bind whatever key you like. Your setup is remembered between sessions.
Merge overlapping recordings
OBS replay-buffer chunks that overlap in time are detected and joined into one clean clip, with the originals kept safe in a backup folder.
Switch audio tracks
Recorded game and mic on separate tracks? Preview and pick which track a clip keeps, so the sorted file has the audio you want.
Collision-safe moves
Files are never overwritten: a name clash is auto-renamed, and every move can be undone.

▸Where do my clips go?
Into the destination folders you set up as bins, on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded: sorting, merging, and audio changes all happen locally in the desktop app.
▸What does merging overlapping recordings do?
OBS's replay buffer can save chunks that overlap in wall-clock time. Clip Sorter detects those, trims the overlap, and joins them into a single clip, keeping the originals in a merged_originals backup folder.
▸Why is Clip Sorter desktop-only?
Because it works directly with a folder of large video files on your computer. Doing that locally keeps it fast and private instead of uploading gigabytes of footage. The web app can't touch your filesystem, so Clip Sorter lives in the desktop app.
