When a thumbnail stops your scroll, save it. The GrumpTools browser extension adds a save button while you browse YouTube, or paste any video link into the board, and your swipe file keeps every reference with its title for your next design session.
One-click saving on YouTube
The extension (Chrome and Firefox) adds a save button on thumbnails and watch pages while you browse.
Or just paste a link
Drop any YouTube URL into the board and it saves the thumbnail with the video's title and channel.
Long-form and Shorts filters
Flip between everything, long-form videos, and Shorts to study the format you are designing for.
Always current
Thumbnails display straight from YouTube, so your board shows them exactly as they appear live.
- 01
Install the extension (or don't)
One-click saving needs the Chrome/Firefox extension; pasting links works without it.
- 02
Save while you browse
Hit the save button on any thumbnail that catches your eye, or paste the video URL.
- 03
Review your board
Open Thumbnail Inspo to study and compare references, filtered by long-form or Shorts.
▸Why keep a thumbnail swipe file?
Thumbnails are pattern recognition: studying designs that already earn clicks in your niche is the fastest way to improve your own click-through rate.
▸Do I need the extension?
It makes saving one click while you browse YouTube, but you can also save by pasting any video link directly into the board. The extension is available for Chrome and Firefox.
▸Are the images copied?
No. Your board references the thumbnails from YouTube itself; saving a reference for study does not copy or republish anyone's work. If a video is deleted, its thumbnail disappears from your board too.
